Benefits

  • Lenovo’s unique watchband hinge. The 360-degree watchband hinge specially built by Lenovo is a design feature that sets Lenovo apart in the 2-in-1 convertible laptop market. With its subtle and elegantly intricate components, the watchband hinge can be rotated back completely for tablet use, or simply pushed back and forth for traditional laptop routines.
  • Potent Processing Speed. The Yoga 910 is powered by the new Kaby Lake dual-core Intel core i7-7500U and hence, should easily handle demanding softwares.
  • Long battery life. One of the most appealing traits of the Lenovo Yoga 910 is its improved battery in comparison to previous models of the 9xx series. With a claim to a battery average runtime of 15 hours, the 2-in-1 notebook lasts just over 10 hours when continuously surfing the net over Wi-Fi.

Downsides

  • Akward webcam positioning. The Yoga 910 incorporates a 720p webcam with a pretty decent image quality. It is located below the display instead of its more conventional top-mounted position. This focuses the camera to the bottom of your chin. You will have to push your neck down to get to look more directly at the camera. Also, there is no IR camera to allow you access the laptop using the Windows Hello facial recognition.
  • Heavier than previous models. One may understandably assume that every new generation of convertible notebooks would be tailored to be thinner and lighter than its predecessors. This is not the case with the Lenovo Yoga 9xx series, as the Yoga 910 with a weight of 1.38 kg, is heavier than its previous models; the Yoga 900 and Yoga 900s which weigh 1.29kg and 0.99kg respectively.
  • The fans in the Yoga 910 are almost always spinning even for the least demanding tasks such as email checking and their noise is sure to be noticed. On the flipside, this ensures that the laptop never gets hot underneath.

Verdict

The Yoga 910 comes forth as more average looking, something not due to Lenovo’s lack of trying or below par specifications. To the contrary, it features a compact design, is very fast, efficient and yes, really pretty. However, it is its confusing ports, jumpy trackpad, an annoying webcam positioning, and a noisy fan that makes the Yoga 910 frustrating to use.
