Thomson Neo 10 UK-NEO10A-2BK32 Review

With the price of $120 (£99), the Thompson Neo 10 is the go-to when you are on a tight budget. Its specs aren’t something noteworthy but for those who are always on the go and would like the convenience of having a cheap portable laptop, you should check this out.

Specs

Processor: Intel Atom Quad-Core Memory: 2GB Ram Storage: 32GB (upgradable to 128gb with a microSD card) Screen: 10.1 -inch display Weight: Less than 1kg Battery Runtime: 7.5 hours (According to the Manufacturer)

Benefits

-It’s cheap. For its price, you get the WIndows 10 home pre-installed which already costs as much as the laptop itself and you also get the mobile version of Microsoft Office suite bundled as well.

-At only less than 1kg, it’s very light and should be very convenient for those who are always on a commute and would like to be productive on the go.

-The laptop comes with a connection through mini HDMI, and a microSD card reader which helps you stay on top of your work.

Downsides

  • With only 2 gigabytes of ram, you wouldn’t be able to multitask as much and would mean that you would need to focus on one application at a time.
  • Because of its relatively small screen size, browsing the web isn’t a simple task. You would have to scroll the page over and over again if you’re not comfortable with downscaling the font size to get a better overview.
  • Other than browsing and editing documents, there’s not much you can do with it since you wouldn’t be able to install a lot of applications due to the limitations of the storage included with the device.

Verdict

  • Although it’s specs aren’t promising, it should be enough to get you up to date while on the go but if you are using this as your main device, this won’t be a good investment. Even at a cheap price.
