Ferguson F40RTS Review

The Ferguson F40RTS is a 40-inch midrange television with built in Freeview support and 3 HDMI ports that will let you enjoy your content in 1920 x 1080 resolution. It has a myriad of other ports, but none of this should be considered because of its poor software implementation and shoddily made hardware. The remote control is almost unusable due to its size and tiny buttons.

Specifications:

Screen size: 40 inches

Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Input: x3 HDMI, USB, Composite with audio, VGA with PC audio, RF

Output: 3.5 mm headphone jack

Special Feature: Freeview, Ethernet jack

Benefits:

This television has a decent screen for its price and if you can get it to work without hiccups, it will more than suffice for the average user. If you are interested in a home theatre, gaming, or watching high quality cinema, then this model is not for you. It does have a good selection of ports and the built in Freeview which means you will not have to add another box or switch cables as often

Downsides:

The downsides of this model are its shoddy built quality and almost unusable remote control. The software is confusing and full of error messages that tech support does not know how to fix. If your model is capable of displaying a picture however, you will still have to navigate it with a downright terrible remote control that has buttons designed for a mouse. It does not help that the speakers are quite tinny as well. This model suffers from many of the same problems that plague other Ferguson products.

Verdict:

Unfortunately, the downsides of this model outweigh its benefits, and in such a crowded market, it is difficult to recommend. If you can ignore the general shoddiness, poor software, and poor speakers, you might find that the screen itself is actually of a decent caliber. This is not a recommended television.
