Benefits

The Dell Inspiron G5 comes with an Intel Core i7-8750H with a base frequency of 2.2 GHz and a max turbo frequency of 4.1 GHz. You’re getting six cores and twelve threads. Yes, a 9th-generation chip may be a much-appreciated upgrade to the G5, but it really doesn’t make the difference. You’re getting all the processing power you need and more with the G5.

Dell has gone the full-mile and provided a 90-Wh battery with their laptop to support their high-end specs and give it a prolonged battery life. Yes, it adds a bit to the price tag, but all things considered, it’s still something a lot of people would pay extra for.

Downsides

  • The 128GB SSD paired with a 1TB HDD is a weird storage setup.
  • Unsatisfactory webcam.

Verdict

The G5 is an improvement over the gaming laptops Dell has put forward in their lineup in the past. It certainly comes with its own set of flaws, but all things considered, it’s still a solid gaming laptop that deserves a recommendation.
